Properly known as Dehydroepiandrosterone, DHEA is most commonly understood as a testosterone booster. Higher testosterone, of course, is sought by the body during periods of muscle growth. The net effect works more like a recovery aid.

What is it?

A pro-hormone (or parent hormone), men and women naturally create DHEA in our bodies (primarily from the adrenal glands). It’s tied to more than 150 metabolic functions. It also works like a natural anabolic steroid, increasing the production of natural growth hormones.

Other medical uses include treatments for bone density, heart health, cholesterol levels, fighting fatigue, and to promote libido hormones. It’s also billed as a way to combat inflammation. Nearly every age-related and auto-immune condition/symptom these days seems to be tied to inflammation.

Natural Decline

DHEA levels diminish starting at about age 30. Many in this age demographic start to notice a slowing metabolism and energy levels, as well as lower libido. This diminishing effect accelerates every decade after 30, leaving about 10-20 percent of baseline levels at age 75.

Block Quote “Low DHEA levels are associated with aging and a number of diseases, such as anorexia, type 2 diabetes, and HIV. In older men, having low levels of DHEA is also associated with a high chance of death.” – WebMD

Supplementing DHEA

A very high consistency of research studies shows a reliable and significant increase in DHEA concentrations in the bloodstream from taking DHEA supplements. So how do we get more? There are no natural food sources of DHEA – it must be synthesized; sometimes from similar properties in yams and soybeans. But not all sources are equal.

Crazymass makes supplements from the highest quality ingredients. Don’t be fooled by competitors and knockoffs. Quality control is essential for supplements and their components. All of our supplements are formulated and manufactured in the United States. While DHEA is naturally produced by your body, and 100% legal for purchase – be sure to check out the regulations of any competitive organizations you belong to. Some governing bodies ban even legal substances that give a competitive edge.
